Niskayuna has been powering its way through New York, recording nothing but big wins in the Silver Warriors four opening games.
Most recently, Niskayuna hosted Shaker on April 9. For the first time this season, Niskayuna faced a zone defense, and it took the Warriors some time to get used to. Once the Warriors cracked the system, they took off, dominating throughout the game.
James Sexton put Niskayuna on the board less then on a minute into the game. Then there was a scoring draught lasting until two minutes into the second quarter when Sexton doubled on his first goal. From that point, the Warriors netted four more goals before the half to take a 6-1 lead into the break.
With their momentum in full swing, the Silver Warriors continued to dominate throughout the second half. By the end of the game, Niskayuna finished with a strong 16-5 win.
With four goals to his final tally, Sexton led the charge of nine different Niskayuna scorers. Aidan O’Brien continued to control the offense with his three assists.
Now 4-0, Niskayuna is off to a great start of the year, ranking 16th in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings a 4th in New York.
The Silver Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 11 to face Darien, Connecticut’s top team and 8th in the nation.
